1704 ~ On Thursday Feb. 8th 1704 I baptised a son of William Smith by Lucy his wife at Redhill in the liberty of Bowwood park near Caln, but in no parish. He was born on ye 4th of ye same month. His namw was William.

“Memorandun – The Reverend Mr Edmonstone Vicar of Potterne has delivered into my hands the loose sheets of the most ancient registers of this church which are fast decaying that they might be arranged and transcribed as far as possible for the benefit of the Parish”
